Our Lady of Montserrat

If you want to take a trip into the countryside around Barcelona can take the train to Montserrat and visit the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria and then a little walk. Even from a distance we see the 1,200-meter Berg. The mountain offers a magnificent view over the whole area.

A brief history : found

According to legend, the "La Moreneta", the little brown one, to 880 from a shepherd boy in a cave. The bishop wanted to bring to Manresa, but failed because it was too difficult apparently. So they interpreted this to mean that they wanted to remain at the site and built the Hermitage of Santa Maria.
Lange was also puzzled why the statue is black, candle soot, wonder ,...? Result: it is painted.

Getting to Montserrat:
From Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwe take the train (FGC - Ferrocarril de la Generalitat de Catalunya), the R5 line to Manresa.

Get off either at "Aeri de Montserrat" and they take the cable car, or at "Monistrol de Montserrat" and take the cog railway, which hinaufschlängelt curl the mountain.

Visit Monastery of Montserrat, it is worth it. They have to but a whole day and appropriate clothing. Sturdy shoes and a jacket.
